Since childhood, I have heard about two famous places associated with two seasons of the year, which are autumn in France and winter in Russia. Contrary to the harshness and death of Russian Winter that has contributed to failures of several military invasions, autumn in France is described as a romantic and poetic season. Therefore, I always have a dream of coming to France in the fall, sitting under the orange-yellow-leave trees with leaves falling over the ground. Now, that dream has come true, autumn in France is indeed very beautiful and romantic, but the feeling of enjoying that beauty alone also brings me an indescribable sadness.

This is the first place that I made my autumn dream come true.
Sitting on that chair and watching mallards and swans swimming in the front canal brought me a peaceful feeling. When having a seat there, I could not think much other than the past stories. That's the reason why even though I like to sit on that place, but I never do it for long.

A small street near where I live during the fall. Like a small forest.

This romantic street under sunset is the way I went home from school every afternoon.

Also another way back home.

When I came to Paris, I was surprised to see that the parks are equipped with a lot of chess tables. A lot of people gather to play chess on weekends in these parks. This reminds me of my childhood with stone tables for old people to play Chinese chess in roadside cafe shops and or barbershops.

This autumn scene with yellow leaves reminds me of the traditional Tet holidays in my hometown with yellow color of apricot blossoms.

I realized one thing that French people love to plant trees in rows, in the same size and in a certain symmetrical layout. These lines of trees are like copy-and-past models. I took this picture in the Grand Trianon (Palace of Versailles). You can see this planting structure from anywhere in France.

Also another lines of trees in the garden of Palace of Versailles in autumn. I will write another post about my journey in Palace of Versailles.

I love trees. I also love to have a seat and take pictures underneath the line of trees.

Luxembourg Garden (Paris) in autumn.

I will never forget the moment I sit on this chair in Luxembourg Garden to … do exercise and have a Zoom meeting with my teammates to discuss about a group project.

A poetic road near my school.

In my country, people often say autumn are yellow. But in fact, red is also a dominant color in France autumn. The trees in these pictures are strong evidences of how colorful autumn is.

This tree is so lonely, isn’t it?

It's ridiculous that the falling red leaves on the ground are considered as garbage by locals, but it is a beautiful and romantic scene in the eyes of a Vietnamese like me.

This photo was taken in front of Athena statue at University of Strasbourg. A line of red trees like army of the god.
