Before setting my foot on Strasbourg, I have heard a lot of fame about this place. This City is known as one of the most beautiful cities in France, Heart of Europe or Capital of Noel. Now, living in the heart of the City, I clearly understand the reasons behind those names. I decided to make a series of photos so that everyone can enjoy the beauty of Strasbourg.
Chapter 1: General impression about the City - the harmony of beauty

1. The beauty of the ancient
Having a rich history in Europe, Strasbourg is made up of the beauty of the antiquity of the old German-style houses, churches built hundreds of years ago and medieval paved streets. As a history lover with a great imagination, I can imagine myself living in a medieval city with carriages on the cobblestone streets and the rings of church bells.

Strasbourg's signature: bridges decorated with fresh flowers
In front is the Historical Museum of Strasbourg, which displays artifacts through each period of the City. The bell tower in the further distance is of the beautiful Notre Dame Cathedral (Cathédrale Notre Dame de Strasbourg) which will be presented in my next Chapter

Place Gutenberg (Gutenberg Square) near Notre Dame Cathedral

A restaurant with the view being Notre Dame Cathedral and old houses built on cobblestone streets. Would you like to have your dinner here?

Another Strasbourg's signature: Small German-style houses along the river

Enjoying the beauty of the City from the bridges always bring peaceful feeling to me

Saint-Thomas, a late Romanesque and Gothic Church founded from 7th century

Gate Tower of the Strasbourg Civil Hospital (Tour-porte de l'Hôpital civil de Strasbourg), the gate near Catholic Church of the Civil Hospital which has been built in 13th century

Place Kléber, a square named after the French revolutionary general Jean-Baptiste Kléber (a son of Strasbourg). The place is covered by ancient building with book and antique markets every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday

The statue of General Kléber stood proudly in the middle of the Square named after his name. His remain is buried right below the statue. Now, we can also see the name of Kléber on the wall of the Arc de Triomphe in Paris
... I also took advantage of the nice weather to take a picture : D

Palace of the Rhine (Palais du Rhin), a building situated in the German (north-east) quarter of Strasbourg. This palace is built by German after Franco-Prussian War of 1870–71

Cold cobblestone streets recalling the medieval time

Fantastic panorama view of Strasbourg from the top of Notre Dame Cathedral
2. Peaceful and poetic City
The peaceful and poetic scenery of Strasbourg is created from the small population, ancient buildings and nature here. Walking and wandering alone on the street of the City at any time always make me feel sad and full of homesickness.

The scenery can be seen from the morning

… to the afternoon…

… or even at the night

Restaurants and streets that seem to exist only in movies or the distant past
3. Green city
Strasbourg is green in different ways. Firstly, the City is filled by a lot of parks and trees. Secondly, citizens of Strasbourg prefer to use bikes for transportation. Thirdly, a great number of buildings here are decorated by the green of plants. Fourthly, the rivers in Strasbourg have an emerald green color like the green lakes in Switzerland.

Unlike other cities in France, many people in Strasbourg choose bikes for their daily activities

The buildings, even old or modern style, have a green cover

Hope the viewers enjoy the photos like me!
